Recently, Ansteel’s seamless V135G ultra-high strength pipes were successfully rolled and delivered, marking another milestone for Ansteel’s seamless steel pipe products in the field of high-end oil well pipes and providing key technical support for the company’s high-quality development. At present, the steel industry is facing multiple challenges, including insufficient effective demand and a decline in capacity utilization. The Joint Technology Center for seamless steel tube production at Ansteel’s large-scale main plant focuses on the research and development as well as production of high-end pipes. By driving product upgrades through technological innovation, it continues to meet the diverse needs of the market, gradually achieving the strategic goals of improving the quality of oil well pipes, strengthening the production of specialized pipes, and expanding the output of ordinary carbon steel pipes. The research and development of V135G ultra-high-strength pipes imposes extremely high requirements on the strength and toughness of the products. This production line has actively mobilized technical personnel to work on specialized solutions, achieving breakthroughs in materials and manufacturing processes. This product utilizes an advanced temperature-controlled heat treatment process, which not only ensures high strength but also significantly improves toughness, thereby eliminating the risk of brittle fracture in traditional materials under extreme stress conditions. Through the intelligent heat treatment temperature control system, the R&D team was able to precisely regulate the microstructure of the steel, achieving an optimal balance between strength and toughness. This not only enabled the products to reach a strength of 135 Ksi but also increased their added value by 20%, with a first-pass qualification rate of 95%. Ultimately, the product quality met the customer’s requirements, and delivery was successful.
