Hello, guys. Recently I came across something rather special, which seems to be a connecting device used for oil pipeline transportation in offshore platforms. As shown in the figure, the two flange welding ends are pressed together at their welding ends; there is a lifting lug on each side, and they are connected through a clamping device. However, there is a gap between the two welding ends. I would like to ask whether this structure is reasonable, what needs to be taken into consideration, and if there are any standards Thank you!
