I provide technical services and support for skid-mounted equipment used in oil and gas pipelines; feel free to reach out if needed (products such as analysis instruments and analysis booths).
In the production of petrochemical skids, when square steel is used to make the base skids, excessive longitudinal bending often occurs after welding; this issue is addressed by using local flame heating followed by rapid cooling for adjustment. Both the efficiency and effectiveness are not very satisfactory. Are there any clever tricks? Using square tubes filled with water before welding results in very little deformation, and the outcome is good as well. Is it allowed to do this? One unit was forgotten to have its water drained, which led to a funny situation during the inspection.
