Hello, experts in the community: can dry natural gas or gas be used as the power source for the actuator of a shut-off valve? Are there any relevant specifications?
I’ve heard of this usage for the first time; I’m waiting for experts to explain whether it will cause an explosion, with the nozzle igniting and shooting upward
Damn it, damn it, damn it! If flammable and explosive gases are used as the gas source, then the entire working environment will be filled with such gases when the gas valves are in operation? ? ?
I checked the petrochemical standard SHT 3020-2013, which states that according to GBT 4830-1984, the instrument air supply should not contain flammable, explosive, toxic, or corrosive gases or vapors; however, this requirement is no longer present in GBT 4830-2015, which replaces GBT 4830-1984. I also checked the Chemical Industry HGT 20510-2014 Specification for Instrument Gas Supply Design, and this issue is not mentioned there either. Under normal circumstances, instrument air cannot be replaced with flammable or explosive gases, but some colleagues have seen this type of design in practice. I’m so confused; anyway, I’ve never seen it. The regulations are also ambiguous.
No specific standards are needed, right? Every area at the site needs to be protected to prevent leaks; releasing flammable and explosive gases like this – is such a colleague reliable at all?
Regardless of whether it’s reliable or not, present the evidence that proves it’s not possible. The design still needs to follow relevant standards. Just because we haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist; if they dare to use such a manufacturing process, they must have considered the related issues
Upstairs, those devices that can be seen on site are likely remote and independent units such as station tanks and the like; they are located outdoors and equipped with self-acting control valves that use pipeline gas for regulation
It can be used if one wants to go up into the air; there is definitely a leak in the gas supply.
