I’m not sure if the preceding text refers to it, but the two-way pressure difference in the process. The pressure difference on both sides of a specific valve seems to be the nominal pressure indicated on the valve body, right? Generally, the flow direction of a valve is related to sealing factors, due to the limitations of its internal structure. These include the sealing of the valve port, and the sealing between the valve stem and the valve body. Specifically, it depends on the application requirements within the process; there are requirements regarding the direction. For reference.
