Previously we used CAD for drawing, which was simpler than this. Now, special inspection requirements dictate that it have to be done in the style of these drawings. Everyone, tell me which software is used to create such drawings.
It is more accurate to create the drawings using 3D software and then cast them out.
What 3D software do people usually use for this purpose? The length of my pipes is generally between 1.2 and 2 km. The drawings need to show information such as the welders, the type and numbering of welds, coordinate points, and inspection points. There are usually around 200 to 400 welds on each pipe. Using CAD to create such drawings is too time-consuming. Are there any software that can handle this task directly?
Currently, 3D software modeling is popular, followed by image extraction, which is quite convenient.
Expert, how should the distance between a elbow at 45 degrees or 60 degrees and a straight pipe be indicated in such drawings? Should the center of the elbow start from the center line or the intersection line with the flange edge?
Download a plugin called HGCAD, which is a chemical engineering CAD tool; by installing this plugin, it’s possible to draw system diagrams with angles of 45 degrees.
This type of diagram does not focus on such details; bends or other key information is indicated in the material list. If it is necessary to label this information, it is recommended to use three-view drawings to create the plan and elevation views
It is recommended to divide the drawings into several sections; 200 welds per drawing is too many – it’s too crowded
