What is the difference between the grade and model of welding electrodes?

I’ve never been able to figure out: what’s the difference between the grades and models of welding electrodes (and welding wires)? Please ask someone knowledgeable to give some advice!
E represents welding rod, ER represents welding wire
Grade. . . It refers to the brand account. It’s something that manufacturers can incorporate into their own brand name. Model. . . It’s a name assigned to something according to certain rules, as specified in the standards. . . But, for a long time, it has been a bit chaotic. . .
The model number is **the designation specified in standards for different welding materials. Welding materials from different manufacturers may have different brand names, but the corresponding model number should be the same
Some manufacturers use a combination of grade and model number; for example, some of Atlantic’s welding electrodes are labeled CHE5018. Other manufacturers employ their own numbering system for their welding materials, and it is necessary to refer to a lookup table – such is the case with ESab’s welding materials
