Recently, a batch of pressure pipeline fittings such as flanges, tees, and elbows arrived without any markings indicating their model or appearance details. When complaints were made to the manufacturer, the company tried to shirk responsibility by claiming that new regulations do not require such markings, and that they would not include them unless specifically requested. Suppressing the turmoil in my heart, I checked it out, and indeed it was true. It turns out that the mandatory document requiring visual markings on pipeline components is the \"TSG D2001-2006 Rules for Licensing the Manufacture of Pressure Pipeline Components\", which specifies such requirements on page 12. In 2019, a new regulation was issued: the \"Regulations on Licensing for Special Equipment Production and Filling Units (TSG 07 – 2019)\». Page 11 of this regulation specifies that the \"Regulations on Licensing for the Manufacture of Pressure Pipeline Components (TSG D2001-2006)\\" are repealed; however, the new regulation does not explicitly state that pipeline components must have visual markings. Specifications such as GBT12459-2017 and HG/T 20592 both contain a ‘T’ in their names, but they are not mandatory; therefore, it is reasonable for people to omit that marking. It seems that the only option is to take extra precautions by specifying in advance that markings must be applied, so as to prevent others from taking advantage of the situation.

I have also consulted the standard TSG D0001-2009, but to be honest, based on its literal description and common sense, it does not mean that the manufacturer is required to apply markings; rather, it means that the construction party is responsible for marking each pipe fitting, and these markings must be consistent with the completion documents.
This topic is very meaningful; it reminds us to pay special attention in the future to clearly specifying the requirement for steel stamp markings when dealing with equipment suppliers!

The procurement documents will clearly require manufacturers to comply with the relevant GB/T or HG/T standards; the absence of mandatory provisions is not a reason for manufacturers to fail to meet the specific standard requirements for flanged fittings
