Can there be a low point in the vent pipe that leads from the BOG pipeline network to the flare? Why? Secondly, if there is no low point, is it necessary to install a liquid separation tank in the BOG pipeline before connecting it to the flare?
It is not recommended to start from the low point, unless there are liquid separation devices at that point. Given that the BOG may be cold or contain liquid phases when discharged, a liquid separation tank should be installed before it enters the flare to separate the gas from the liquid, thereby ensuring stable operation of the flare and reducing the occurrence of fire rain.
