The Pipeline Protection Law prohibits the following activities that pose a threat to the safety of pipelines within a zone of five meters on each side of the pipeline’s centerline: (1) planting trees, shrubs, vines, reeds, bamboo, or other deep-rooted plants whose roots may reach the area where the pipeline is buried and thus damage its anti-corrosion coating； (II) Soil excavation, quarrying, use of fire, stacking of heavy objects, discharge of corrosive substances, and use of mechanical tools for digging operations ； (III) Digging ponds, building canals, constructing drying areas, setting up aquaculture farms, building greenhouses, constructing livestock shelters, building houses, and constructing other buildings and structures. The pipeline is constructed using directional drilling at a considerable depth below the surface; is it not necessary to remove trees and other obstacles? What is the basis?
