A problem arose during the project: there was a stainless steel pipe in the factory that needed to be buried directly on site and connected to the workshop. How to consider the corrosion of stainless steel pipes when they are buried? Should anti-corrosion treatment be done? How to do it? I seek guidance from experts!
It is recommended to apply anti-corrosion treatment to buried stainless steel pipes, as the corrosive substances in the soil are complex and can cause corrosion to stainless steel； The anti-corrosion method depends on the temperature of the medium. If the temperature is not high and the conditions for 3PE anti-corrosion are met, then 3PE can be used. If the length is relatively large, polyolefin tape, epoxy coal tar pitch, or thick-form epoxy coatings can be used for anti-corrosion purposes
Firstly, stainless steel pipes cannot be treated with 3PE; generally, they can be coated with epoxy resin paint or epoxy phenolic paint
First, it is necessary to consider the corrosiveness of the soil. If it has an impact on stainless steel, anti-corrosion measures are still required. If painting is needed, the surface of the stainless steel pipes must be shot blasted to achieve the surface roughness required for painting; otherwise, the paint is likely to peel off.
