Recently, the first batch of straight-seam submerged arc welded pipes destined for Argentina was successfully produced at the Petrochemical Machinery Steel Pipe Branch and moved on to the anti-corrosion treatment process. These steel pipes will be used in the construction of the Floating LNG Production, Storage and Offloading unit (FLNG) for the RIO NEGRO project. What is FLNG? A Floating Liquefied Natural Gas Production, Storage, and Unloading unit (FLNG) is a specialized ship used for the liquefaction, storage, and unloading of natural gas at sea, and it places extremely high demands on the safety, low-temperature resistance, and dimensional accuracy of the pipeline pipes used for transportation. In response to the strict requirements of the project, the steel pipe branch focused on overcoming technical challenges such as high low-temperature toughness of welds and precise length control per meter, in order to meet the project’s demands with high quality. Under this project, the Petrochemical Machinery Steel Pipe Branch will supply high-quality steel pipes in various specifications such as 508 millimeters, 610 millimeters, and 762 millimeters, suitable for use in marine and land-based applications. In recent years, in line with the global trend toward a greener and lower-carbon energy structure, petrochemical machinery companies have made efforts to develop a system of green energy equipment. They have successfully created a range of products, including the world’s first ultra-high-power fully electric fracturing equipment, variable-frequency drilling rigs for ultra-deep wells, subsea hydroelectric drive cementing skids, automated workover rigs for new energy sources, electric coiled tubing operation equipment, CCUS compressors, and steel pipes for carbon dioxide transportation. At the same time, it focuses on the new field of hydrogen energy, developing independently key pressure-boosting equipment such as liquid-driven hydrogen compressors and diaphragm hydrogen compressors. It establishes digital service centers for hydrogen refueling stations, possesses the capability to provide integrated solutions for all ten systems related to hydrogen refueling, and offers solutions for LNG refueling equipment.
