On September 8, the list of candidates shortlisted for the general contracting of pipeline construction for the Datang Group’s new energy-related project, namely the hydrogen transmission pipeline project from Damao Banner to Baotou city, as well as for the procurement of steel pipes used for hydrogen transportation and engineering construction supervision, was made public. According to the tender announcement, the location of the Damao Banner to Baotou city hydrogen pipeline project starts at the hydrogen transmission hub located in the Bayun Industrial Park (chemical industry cluster) of the Dalhan Mumingan United Banner in Baotou City, passes through Guyang County in Baotou City and Ulaat Qabag Banner in Bayannur City, and ends at the gas transmission terminal in Kundulun District of Baotou City. The starting point of the hydrogen long-distance pipeline from Damao Banner to Baotou city is the first station located in the Bayan Obo Mining Area’s Barun Industrial Park (chemical industry cluster). The pipeline runs in a north-south direction, passing through the Bayan Obo Mining Area’s Barun Industrial Park (chemical industry cluster) in Damao Banner, the Bayan Obo Mining Area itself, the New Industrial Park, Guyang County, Ulaat Qab Front Banner, and Kundulun District in Baotou City; the ending point is the last station in Kundulun District. The total length of the pipeline is approximately 195 km, with a design pressure of 6.3 MPa and a pipe diameter of DN457. The designed annual hydrogen transport capacity is 100,000 tons. Four new stations and six new valve rooms will be constructed; the stations are the first station in the Bayun Industrial Park (chemical industry cluster) of the Baiyunebo mining area, the distribution station in the New Industrial Park, the distribution station in Guyang County, and the terminal station in Kundulun District. According to the announcement of the shortlisted bidders: For the general contracting of pipeline construction, which is divided into 6 bid sections, CCCC Petrochemical Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd., Sichuan Petroleum and Natural Gas Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., China National Petroleum Pipeline Bureau Engineering Co., Ltd., Liaohe Oilfield Construction Co., Ltd., and Xindi Energy Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. were selected as the top shortlisted bidders. Project duration: Construction is scheduled to begin on September 5, 2025, and be completed by December 5, 2025; the estimated duration is 90 days. The procurement of steel pipes for hydrogen transportation is divided into 3 bid sections, with Inner Mongolia Baogang Ganglian Co., Ltd., Tianjin Baogang North China Steel Sales Co., Ltd., and Inner Mongolia Juncheng Xingye Pipeline Co., Ltd. being selected as the top three winning candidates. Project timeline: Supply is scheduled to begin on September 5, 2025, and be completed by November 5, 2025; the estimated delivery period is 60 days. In the project construction supervision, it was divided into 2 bid sections, with MCC South Wuhan Engineering Consulting Management Co., Ltd. and Shandong Shengli Construction Supervision Co., Ltd. being the two candidates selected as the first prize winners. Project duration: Construction is scheduled to begin on September 5, 2025, and be completed by December 5, 2025; the estimated duration is 90 days.
