For ordinary electric valves and pneumatic valves, it takes 10 to 15 seconds to go from closed to fully open. What was said upstairs is correct; it depends on the size of the pipelines and the bore diameter of the solenoid directional valves – these factors determine the flow rate of air. Another factor is the pressure of the air supply. The pipelines don’t need to be overly complex. In my tests, a small pneumatic ball valve opens in one second, larger ones take 1-2 seconds, while even larger ball valves or butterfly valves require 3-5 seconds to open. It also depends on what type of valve is being used.

It is almost impossible for electric versions to achieve rapid movement. For pneumatic systems, depending on the diameter – in the case of butterfly valves and ball valves, if the diameter is not large – it is possible to achieve a response time of less than 0.5 seconds with the right accessories. Slow motion can be controlled for a specific duration by adding dampers or throttle valves.
If you want to turn it on quickly, use a on/off type shut-off valve such as a corner seat valve – it shuts off instantly. For filling machines that need to be turned on and off very frequently, this type of valve is used
First, it’s necessary to determine what type of valve it is, as well as its torque. For valves with lower torque, pneumatic actuators can achieve a response time of around 1 second; those with higher torque may require 3-4 seconds. Electric actuators are not as fast, unless it’s an electro-hydraulic actuator. In our tests, a DN300 high-temperature, high-pressure ball valve equipped with an electro-hydraulic actuator was able to achieve a fast opening and closing time of 0.25 seconds
