Using steam for pressure testing – won’t the decrease in pressure due to steam condensation lead to inaccurate testing results? You can’t keep the steam on all the time either; that way, you won’t be able to find out how it actually performs ?

I’ve never heard of using steam for pressure testing; generally, water or air is used for such tests, while air or process gas is employed for airtightness testing.
Airtightness: The pressure must be stabilized for at least 30 minutes. ! Test it with air or nitrogen. !
We use nitrogen for pressure testing here, to determine the pressure retention time

As long as the voltage remains stable for a certain period of time without dropping, that’s sufficient
Pressure tests are divided into hydrostatic tests and pneumatic tests; I have never heard of pressure tests using steam as the medium.
