If it’s too dilute, only products like polyaluminum and polyferric can be made.
Have you considered how troublesome it is to isolate hydrogen chloride from 15% hydrochloric acid? Treating this low-concentration hydrochloric acid as waste acid is the most cost-effective approach. Firstly, the concentration is low; secondly, the annual production volume is not high either (20,000 tons per year, which translates to only 60 tons per day assuming 330 days of operation per year). Installing any concentration equipment would be too costly. If there are chlor-alkali plants in the vicinity that produce hydrochloric acid, delivering it to them is the most economical option.
Has my bro found a suitable way? I’m in Hebei, and we produce 80,000 tons of hydrochloric acid annually, with a concentration of over 31%. We still haven’t found a suitable solution for this :(
