There are currently 800L liquid chlorine cylinders, making a total of 4 such cylinders in the chlorine storage facility. The facility is equipped with a set of neutralization and recovery units from well-known domestic brands; the recovery tower is located outdoors and is in good working condition. It has been suggested that an additional fan (in parallel) should be installed on the air intake duct of the recovery unit, so that in the event of damage to that fan, a second backup fan can take over its function. May I ask: is it necessary to add this backup fan? So the question arises again: is it necessary to add another recovery tower? ?
The suggestion to add fans is reasonable, but adding absorption towers may depend on the actual circumstances, or it might be necessary to check if there are any safety regulations in this regard.
If it is normally on, it makes sense to have a backup fan; an electromagnetic valve can be installed at the inlet to interlock with the fan, so that they turn on and off together.
I would appreciate it if experts could advise me: does an accident absorption device require a backup fan, given that all such devices are in standby mode?
It’s not a matter of whether to add it or not; dual fans are necessary, and this part of the process requires a dual-power supply design.
A fan is necessary; the recovery tower depends on its efficiency.
