Our company’s electrolyzers are natural-circulation ion membrane electrolyzers with a membrane pole distance designed by Beihua Machinery. I would like to ask the experts: what should be the appropriate temperature difference between the catholyte and the anolyte?
Personally, I think it’s around 20 degrees

Are you referring to the temperature entering the tank? Is it still the exit temperature?

Controlling the temperature difference of the electrolyte means controlling E-153 and E-273.

The temperature difference between the two sides of this membrane must not exceed 5°C; different ion membranes have varying requirements regarding the temperature difference between the anode and cathode! In electrolysis processes in Europe and the United States, temperature control is applied to both the cathode solution and the anode solution; for example, the cathode is cooled or heated, and the brine is heated after passing through the resin tower before being fed into the cell! This control scheme is relatively reasonable; it provides comprehensive protection for the ion membrane and can be adapted to the production and operation of all types of ion membranes! From the perspective of ion membranes (personal opinion), Asahi Kasei’s ion membranes have the highest temperature adaptability and are the least sensitive to temperature; the size of these ion membranes changes relatively little as the temperature of the electrolyte varies ; Asahi Glass is the most sensitive to temperature, while DuPont is in the middle! The above are my personal opinions; they may be incorrect and do not represent others' views!
