Jianghan Salt Chemical, the world’s largest exporter of bleaching powder products, has successfully obtained the AEO Advanced certification

AEO-certified enterprises refer to those that have obtained the customs AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) certification. AEO certification is a global standard for trade security in international customs operations; it is a certification for trading enterprises recognized at the ** level by members of the Global Trade Security System (GTS). Companies with AEO certification can achieve faster and safer goods flow through priority and simplified inspection procedures, thereby improving supply chain efficiency. The rights granted to enterprises with AEO certification include, but are not limited to, simplified customs inspection procedures, exemption from certain inspections, priority in import and export customs declarations and tax refund processes, as well as additional conveniences and respect. For businesses, obtaining AEO certification can also enhance their brand image, increase their competitiveness in the market, improve the sustainability of their trade operations, boost their financing capabilities, eliminate the need for repeated reporting, simplify customs procedures, and improve their ability to settle invoices. Extra knowledge: The AEO certification is issued by the local customs authorities; it is a recognition of a company’s trade security capabilities. It covers safe, stable, reliable, and effective trade practices, including but not limited to customs declaration, inspection submission, warehousing, and transportation and delivery.

Significant progress has been made on the key projects aimed at establishing a new pattern for industrial development in the Jianghan Oilfield. On November 28, 2023, Sinopec Corporation issued an approval document, officially authorizing the construction of the fine chemicals and related facilities project by Sinopec Jianghan Salt Chemicals Hubei Co., Ltd. The total investment in this project is 1.968 billion yuan (excluding value-added tax). The approval documents specify the main construction details: a chlorinated polyethylene production facility with an annual capacity of 50,000 tons will be built using the domestic hydrochloric acid-phase suspension chlorination process, enabling the production of resin-type (Type A) products, rubber-type (Type B) products, and flame-retardant modifiers (Type C) products ； A 30,000-ton/year hypochlorite plant was constructed using the sodium process independently developed by Sinopec ； A 200,000-ton/year caustic soda plant and an 800,000-ton/year combined salt and nitrate production plant will be constructed using mature manufacturing processes; once completed, the existing 240,000-ton/year salt and nitrate plant will be phased out, while the existing 300,000-ton/year salt and nitrate plant will operate or be shut down depending on market conditions ； A new power station is being constructed, which includes a high-temperature and high-pressure circulating fluidized bed boiler with a capacity of 220 tons per hour, one 25MW back-pressure generator set, as well as auxiliary facilities such as chemical water treatment systems, circulating water systems, air compressor stations, refrigeration stations, fire protection stations, and thermal piping networks ； New storage and transportation facilities such as raw material warehouses, chemical warehouses, storage tanks, dry coal sheds, coal conveying systems, and automated stereoscopic warehouses for chlorinated polyethylene will be constructed. The project is located within the existing site of Jianghan Salt and Chemical Industry, with additional land acquired on the northwest side and north side of Wangchang First Road, resulting in a total land area of 20.21 hectares. Based on chlor-alkali chemistry and giving equal emphasis to inorganic and organic components, this project establishes a development model for Jianghan’s salt chemical industry that combines elements of both basic and high-end production. Upon completion of the project, it will be capable of producing 50,000 tons per year of polyvinyl chloride, 30,000 tons of bleaching powder, 114,000 tons of chlorine gas, 195,000 tons of caustic soda, 493,000 tons of moist salt, and 147,000 tons of sodium sulfate. This will further expand the production capacity for its core product, chlorine-based disinfectants, while also enabling the development of non-cyclical products such as new chlorine-based materials. As a result, the company’s profitability will increase, and its overall economic efficiency will be enhanced.
