According to Sinochem New Network, on November 27, the third (2025) Nanjing Brine Forum was grandly inaugurated. As a major event in the chlor-alkali industry and saltwater treatment sector, various industry experts and corporate executives engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics such as technological innovations in saltwater treatment, pathways for low-carbon transformation, and the coordinated development of the industrial chain, through keynote speeches and dialogues, thereby pooling wisdom and building consensus for the industry’s progress. Dang Jianbing, Party Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of Jiangsu Jiuwu High-Tech Co., Ltd., said that over the past nearly 30 years since its establishment, Jiuwu High-Tech’s ceramic filter membrane products and related equipment have broken through foreign monopolies that hindered development in this field. These products have been recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as champion products in the manufacturing sector. Not only has the company achieved breakthroughs in key technologies, but it has also established leading technical and market advantages on a global scale, making a transition from passive pursuit to active leadership in overcoming such obstacles. To date, the inorganic membrane filter technology developed by Jiugu High-Tech has been used in the chlor-alkali industry for treating more than 22 million tons of primary brine, accounting for 42% of the market share. In the field of nanofiltration-based denitration, Jiugu High-Tech has secured a contract for membrane-based denitration for India’s largest ion-exchange membrane caustic soda project – an facility with an annual production capacity of 750,000 tons of caustic soda. This order represents the largest single-membrane denitration project in the world as well. Zhang Shoute, deputy secretary-general of the China Chlor-alkali Industry Association, said that the chlor-alkali industry in China is currently maintaining a stable development trend. As of now, domestic caustic soda production facilities are operating at high capacity levels. On the demand side, the oxidation industry accounts for a significant portion of the demand for caustic soda, while industries such as printing and dyeing as well as the chemical fiber industry have relatively moderate demand. The use of caustic soda in the new energy sector is on the rise, and the domestic liquid caustic soda market has shown an initial sharp increase followed by a gradual decline. The Chlor-Alkali Industry Association holds an annual caustic soda technology conference, but due to its short duration and broad scope, it does not allow for in-depth discussions on brine technology. The Brine Forum, organized by Jiuguo High Technology, focuses on the brine industry; it brings together industry experts who share their experiences and exchange technical knowledge. It serves as a valuable complement to the association’s annual technical conference, and it plays a positive role in promoting technological progress in the brine sector of the chlor-alkali industry. In the afternoon of the conference, in-depth discussions were held in sessions dedicated to processes and applications. Eight guests delivered excellent presentations on cutting-edge topics including new processes for brine purification, optimization of membrane separation technologies, solutions for environmental protection and emission reduction, and the practical use of intelligent control systems. At the same time, there were discussions on the experience gained in brine purification and nanofiltration denitration technologies, as well as a roundtable dialogue on the refined management of brine purification. On the day of the conference, the attendees visited the Jiuwu High-Tech brand experience center, Jiuwu Research Institute, as well as Jiuwu High-Tech’s **-level green factory. Hosted by Jiangsu Jiuwu High-Tech Co., Ltd., this forum focused on the innovative applications of intelligent technologies in the efficient utilization of saltwater resources, and explored new paths for green development in line with the \"dual carbon\" strategic goals. It attracted over 200 experts, scholars, and industry leaders from chlor-alkali manufacturers, salt production enterprises, environmental design institutes, research institutions, and industry associations across the country.
