Colleagues, how do you carry out anti-corrosion treatment for the coils in rapid sulfur melting tanks? Let’s share our experiences. Our company’s coil steam inlet and outlet pipes are equipped with 316L sleeves, and the upper part of the support steel beams above the liquid level is also made of 304 stainless steel. The pH value is controlled by adding lime to the liquid sulfur, but the area above the liquid level still suffers from corrosion frequently, resulting in significant maintenance workload. Are there F4 fittings available for inlet and outlet pipes, and what’s the performance like? I would appreciate your guidance.
The steam inlet and outlet pipes of the coils above the liquid level are made from thickened 316L tubing; controlling the pH value is essential.
How often does it need to be repaired? Is it because a lot of yellow block is used? What is the temperature of the molten sulfur vapor? Is the stirring intensity too high? How many revolutions per minute? If testing with stainless steel does not yield good results, it is possible to still use carbon steel: after all, the surface of carbon steel tends to get dirtier more easily, but it also has better corrosion resistance. It is also possible to consider using soft PTFE sheets to cover several layers at the interface.
There is a set with PTFE, and the main thing is to maintain stable liquid level.
