In recent years, I have seen many manufacturers use cyclic heating; specifically, a high-temperature fan is installed at the outlet of the last conversion layer to send hot air directly back to the inlet of that layer. To prevent heat from escaping through the acid circulation system of the first absorption tower, a bypass is provided on the flue gas side of that tower. According to industry professionals, for a converter (3+2) in a 200,000 tons/year mineral acid production plant, internal circulation heating requires only 60,000–70,000 kWh of electricity.
When starting up our unit and raising its temperature, we connect the cold-exchange tube side and shell side together; the flue gas exits from the third conversion stage, passes through the cold exchanger, flows directly from the tube side of the cold exchanger to the shell side, and then enters the heat exchanger before proceeding to the fourth conversion stage, thereby allowing the flue gas to bypass the absorption tower and making full use of the heat!

The internal circulation mode should be switched on before introducing air; otherwise, the exhaust will definitely emit a lot of smoke after that.
We started using this technology in 2006 when it was put into operation, but it was later removed by ignorant managers. I really don’t want to mention it
