I came across an interview with Academician Jin Yong, from 2009. Speaking of Xinjiang Tianye’s plasma-based coal pyrolysis for the production of acetylene, I’m not sure whether this technology has been industrialized yet, and what its performance is like
Industrialization has not yet taken place; it’s unknown when that will happen.
After so many years of pilot-scale testing, it’s time to move on to industrial production. Based on the text, if this technology is industrialized, it would represent a revolutionary breakthrough for the calcium carbide industry! Are there any other issues in the industrialization process?
It’s too difficult; a technological breakthrough will lead to a boom in acetylene-based chemicals.
