The A-line of Taohua New Materials’ caprolactam production line has been upgraded to full capacity and operational efficiency

Recently, news came from Lu’an Chemical’s Taiyuan Chemical New Materials Company: the capacity of its caprolactam production unit, which was 100,000 tons per year, has been increased to 200,000 tons per year as part of an energy-saving and consumption-reduction renovation project. The project was launched successfully with a single batch of material input, and the unit has now reached full production capacity and operational efficiency. 　　“The technical upgrade project for Line A of caprolactam focused on comprehensive technical optimization and equipment upgrades for the oximation, refining, and ammonium sulfide units. The results of this upgrade were highly significant, leading to improvements in energy efficiency, productivity, and quality. ”Li Xiang, head of the Development Planning Department at Lu’an Chemical New Materials Company, explained that as a result of the technical upgrades, the production capacity of the caprolactam Line A facility increased from 100,000 tons per year to 200,000 tons per year, thereby eliminating the issue of limited production capacity. At the same time, the consumption of key materials such as steam, liquid ammonia, and cyclohexanone was significantly reduced; in particular, steam consumption dropped by 50%, bringing it to levels that meet the advanced standards of the domestic industry. The quality of the products improved further on top of their already excellent standards, which greatly enhanced the market competitiveness of the caprolactam products and provided solid support for the company’s efforts to improve quality and efficiency. 　　Gao Yuan, a member of the Party Committee, deputy general manager, and chief engineer at Lu’an Chemical New Materials Company, said that this project focuses specifically on improving energy efficiency and optimizing energy consumption in the caprolactam production process. Through technological innovations and equipment upgrades, it helps to reduce production costs and energy use, thereby strengthening the company’s profitability over time.
