Today there was a problem with the electricity supply in the factory; the 75KW motor equipped with a soft starter stopped suddenly. At the same time, all the lighting in the factory flickered for a moment, lasting less than a second. The other motors with lower power levels worked fine and continued to operate normally. It’s a problem with the 10KV power supply from the external network; there is some flicker. The reason for the situation you described is that a short power outage followed by an immediate restoration of power. Motors controlled by AC contactors are able to withstand such short interruptions, whereas soft starters or frequency converters have voltage loss protection, which triggers a fault and causes the device to stop operating
Check whether the short-circuit protection of this motor has been activated, causing a drop in voltage within the internal circuit
It might be caused by a fault in the large motor. The motor is an inductive load, and instantaneous operating overvoltages occur when a fault arises. Lighting fixtures are sensitive to changes in grid voltage, which is why the lights flicker.
