The high-voltage motors in the workshop are currently air-cooled. The small size of the workshop means that the heat generated by these motors affects the indoor temperature, which can rise to over 50°C at midday during summer. The goal is to reduce the workshop temperature to 40–45°C. There are two possible solutions: 1) Install additional coil fans to use 7°C cooled water for heat exchange, thereby cooling the entire workshop; the workshop has an area of 500 square meters with a ceiling height of 8 meters; However, the equipment consists of air compressors; the inlets of the 4 compressors with a suction capacity of 10,000 Nm3 are located indoors, which results in some of the cooling capacity being drawn away. Yet this also lowers the suction temperature and reduces power consumption. 2. Convert the air-to-air cooling system of the 4 high-voltage motors to an air-to-water cooling system in order to reduce the temperature at which the motors dissipate heat. By lowering the temperature of the heat source, it is possible to reduce the temperature in the workshop as well. Additionally, lowering the temperature of the motor stator contributes to the stable operation of the motors. This is just my preliminary idea; I’m not sure what the results will be.
