Installation of a 3,000 m3 acrylonitrile storage tank for Sinochem Quanzhou’s 260,000 tons/year acrylonitrile production project was carried out. This tank has a diameter of 18 m and a net height of 20 m; its total metal weight is 435 tons. It features a foundation design that does not rely on foot bolts. Since the actual foundation of this tank is located too close to the existing tank area, it fails to meet the safety distance requirements specified in the \"Safety Regulations for Special Operations in Chemical Production Facilities\". Sinochem No.7 Construction Company, which was responsible for the installation work, conducted on-site surveys and analyses before deciding to carry out all processes such as tank assembly, welding, and heat treatment within the safe area to the east of the actual foundation. The construction was carried out using a domestically developed method known as the \"integral push-and-slide method for acrylonitrile tanks\", with a push-and-slide distance of 39 meters.
By employing hydraulic synchronous lifting and hydraulic synchronous sliding technologies, a concrete structure slide way, a pushing mechanism, and a 200-ton sliding trolley were designed independently. Twelve 200-ton hydraulic cylinders were used to lift the spherical tank, while two 30-ton hydraulic cylinders were employed to push it for sliding. After 3 hours of intensive pushing operations, the 3000 m³ acrylic sphere tank (3255-T-01E) for Sinochem Quanzhou’s 260,000 tons per year acrylonitrile project was successfully pushed and slid into place.
Chemical construction companies all have a certain level of technical expertise.
