At the construction site of the green chemical recycling project carried out by Fujian Hengxin Green Technology Co., Ltd., a bustling atmosphere of construction is evident everywhere. In the distance, the steel structure, standing dozens of meters tall, has already been erected, with the crane’s long arms swinging back and forth across the skyline. On the ground, excavators are operating noisily, carrying out earthwork tasks in an orderly manner. Inside the roofed factory building, sparks flew like stars as workers focused on welding pipes and installing equipment; a modern factory was taking shape at an accelerated pace. The equipment installation is now largely complete; pipeline welding, as well as the installation of electrical and instrumentation trays and cables, are currently in progress. The overall progress rate is around 80%. Next, line inspection and pressure testing for the pressure testing package, as well as the piping work for the remaining pipelines, will be carried out. Equipment inspection and debugging will proceed simultaneously, with the goal of achieving operation by the first quarter of 2026. The total investment in this project is 379 million yuan, which is used to build depolymerization units, polymerization units, and related facilities; the localization rate of the equipment reaches 90%. It is the world’s first large-scale closed-loop recycling project for nylon 6 using the chemical T2T (Textile-to-Textile) method. The project is centered on the independently developed chemical regeneration technology for nylon. Through processes such as depolymerization, purification, and polymerization, textile waste such as used fishing nets and fabrics is transformed into valuable resources, resulting in high-quality recycled polyamide 6 (PA6) chips. The annual production capacity is expected to reach 7,000 tons, filling the technical gap in the field of chemical regeneration of post-consumer nylon waste in China
Compared to physical recycling, the chemical recycling technology we use enables the ‘primary recycling’ of used nylon; the recycled nylon produced has a quality comparable to that of virgin nylon, while it also reduces carbon emissions by 80% and lessens dependence on fossil raw materials. This project marks the successful implementation of the company’s independently developed nylon T2T (Textile-to-Textile) chemical regeneration technology, establishing a closed-loop recycling system for polyamide 6 and using cutting-edge technology to address the challenges related to resource recycling.
