On November 8, the light component tower of the 120,000-ton/year 1,4-butanediol (BDO) unit, which is the core facility of the Qingyang Tongxin 500,000-ton/year light hydrocarbons deep processing project and was constructed under the general contract by China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Chemical Engineering, was successfully lifted into place. The project has now entered the intensive equipment installation phase. This project is a key construction project in Gansu Province. It is located in the Petroleum, Natural Gas and Chemical Industry Zone of Xifeng Industrial Park in Qingyang City, Gansu Province, and bears the important task of promoting the upgrading and transformation of the regional industry as well as implementing the strategy of **\"green industrial development\"**. The project employs advanced processes such as mixed alkane dehydrogenation, achieving a comprehensive resource utilization rate of 98%. It uses clean resources such as low-efficiency liquefied gas, mixed hydrocarbons, and ethylene as raw materials to focus on the C3 and C4 industrial chains. Among them, the 1,4-butanediol plant is a crucial component of the entire light hydrocarbon deep processing project; it takes in the products from the upstream maleic anhydride plant for further processing, and supplies important raw materials for the downstream PBS new materials. Upon completion, the project will become an important production base for new chemical materials in the northwest. Its annual emission reduction potential is equivalent to that of planting tens of thousands of hectares of forests. It will help Qingyang transition from being a region that exports energy to one that exports products, boosting the local economy and employment, and providing strong impetus for the high-quality development of this historically revolutionary area. The light-component tower being lifted this time is the core separation equipment of the 1,4-butanediol plant; it has a diameter of 2.2 meters and a total height of 34.5 meters, which is equivalent to the height of a 15-story building, making it a veritable \"steel giant tower\". To ensure precise and efficient lifting, the project team assembled a specialized technical team. After multiple rounds of scenario analysis, they deployed a 650-ton large crawler crane along with associated equipment. Through accurate simulation calculations and coordinated on-site management, the entire process of lifting, aligning, and securing the equipment was completed in just 3 hours, with the lifting error kept within the millimeter range.
