There is a relatively tall tower-type device with a diameter of about two meters and a total height of around 28 meters. It needs to be insulated with rock wool. Considering that scaffolding must be set up for the insulation work on site and that the project delivery deadline is tight, the project manager of the general contractor has requested that the insulation and external protection be applied to the tower device in the workshop before it is shipped. I would like to ask experienced colleagues whether this approach is feasible Normally, we wait on-site until the equipment is in place and the scaffolding is set up before carrying out the insulation work. If that’s feasible, then should the insulation at the equipment’s transportation saddles be done only after the equipment has been lifted into place on-site?

A general procedure such as leaving the factory – arriving at the construction site – carrying out anti-corrosion and insulation work on site – and then lifting and installing it seems to me to be a reasonable approach, as it allows for the best possible control over time, risks, speed, and quality.
