Starting from July 1, the National VI emission standards for heavy-duty diesel vehicles will be fully implemented across the country. The production and sale of heavy-duty diesel vehicles that do not meet these standards are prohibited, and imported heavy-duty diesel vehicles must also comply with the National VI standards. On July 1, 2019, the National VI emission standards for gasoline vehicles were implemented nationwide. According to the announcement, as of July 1, 2021, the National VI emission standards for heavy-duty diesel vehicles will be implemented nationwide. The production and sale of heavy-duty diesel vehicles that do not meet these standards are prohibited (the production date is determined by the date on which the vehicle’s compliance certificate is submitted, while the sales date is determined by the date on the vehicle sales invoice). Imported heavy-duty diesel vehicles must also comply with the National VI emission standards (the import date is determined by the date indicated on the goods import certificate). The limit values for nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission concentrations at the valid data points from the on-road emission testing of heavy vehicles, as well as the compliance factor (CF) for pollutant emissions during actual driving conditions of light vehicles, are determined in accordance with the limits specified in the relevant standards and the applicable requirements. Heavy vehicles that meet the emission standards for stage 6b shall have their remote emission monitoring data connected to a network in accordance with the relevant standards and specifications.
