As of November 17, the new 400,000 tons per year high-density polyethylene plant established as part of Jilin Petrochemical’s ethylene plant transformation project has produced nearly 30,000 tons of the new PE-HD5023P grade of product, which is used to manufacture \"Sanfeng\" pipe materials. As new products are successively introduced to the market, HDPE plants have once again achieved milestone breakthroughs in the research, development, and production of high-end, differentiated products, providing strong impetus for the company to further expand into markets for high-value-added products and enhance its core competitiveness. 　　PE-HD5023P is one of the top products in the field of polyethylene pipes today. Thanks to its precisely designed molecular chain structure, it boasts high strength and excellent resistance to stress cracking. It also features superior long-term hydrostatic strength, outstanding resistance to slow crack propagation, and good processability. It is particularly suitable for applications with high pressure requirements, such as municipal water supply and drainage systems, gas transmission lines, industrial piping networks, and large-scale infrastructure projects. Its service life can reach several decades or even a century, making it an upgraded alternative to traditional pipes. 　　Shifting from membrane materials to tube materials, which require extremely high levels of long-term durability and pressure resistance, poses significant challenges in terms of process control for the equipment, the use of catalyst systems, and the adjustment of process parameters. In the pre-transition phase, the ethylene plant of Jilin Petrochemical coordinated various disciplines such as process engineering, equipment, and safety to jointly develop a transition plan and conduct simulations, thereby completing the preparations for switching catalysts and composite additives in advance. During the production process, technical personnel are on site to oversee the entire process of switching between different processes, ensuring a smooth transition in the reactor’s operating conditions and guaranteeing that all product specifications are met. 　　This successful transition from membrane material to \"Sanfeng\" pipe material has provided valuable experience for the development of more \"highly specialized and innovative\" products in the future, thereby enriching Jilin Petrochemical’s portfolio of high-density polyethylene products and increasing the proportion of high-end products significantly.
