The total investment in the project is 160 million yuan. The multi-product production technology for methanol to formaldehyde, low-polymerization-degree paraformaldehyde, methyl acetal, and polydimethyl methoxymethane (DMMn) using a high-concentration iron-molybdenum method (collectively known as the MTCD technology) enables the recovery of energy and wastewater, resulting in a significant reduction in consumption. At present, this technology is at the leading level in the same industry both domestically and internationally. Ningxia Xibei Chemical Co., Ltd., Wuxi Xiyuan Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., and Sinochem Research Institute of Chemical Sciences held a discussion on the construction of the polydimethyl methoxymethane (DMMn) project, and put forward reasonable suggestions and plans regarding the future development of this project in the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Park, as well as aspects such as land planning and development, enterprise support, and operation models. It plays an important role in changing the current situation in our country, characterized by a high dependence on crude oil imports and severe air pollution. As an ideal diesel blending agent and a new type of environmentally friendly solvent, DMMn plays an important role in addressing China’s current issues such as high dependence on crude oil imports and severe air pollution. To date, there are not many DMMn production facilities in operation in China. In 2019, the 100,000-ton-per-year DMMn production facility, which was contracted out by Hualu Technology, was the largest single coal-to-methanol-based DMMn production plant in China at that time. The design and development of this device represent Hualu Technology’s proactive efforts to explore high-value-added products derived from methanol; it also contributes to the expansion of the methanol industry chain as well as to the transformation and upgrading of the product structure. At 17:56 on December 28, 2019, the 800,000-ton-per-year methanol production facility, which is part of the country’s largest coal-based polydimethyl methoxide production project currently under construction – the 500,000-ton-per-year polydimethyl methoxide production project operated by Yanzhou Coal Industry Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. – was successfully commissioned for the first time. This enabled the entire production process to operate smoothly, resulting in the production of qualified methanol. The 500,000 tons per year DMMn project at Yulin Energy Chemical, along with the 800,000 tons per year methanol project, requires an investment of 3.656 billion yuan; the process equipment and auxiliary systems for these projects are under the general contract of Tianchen Company. The gasification unit employs a new type of multi-nozzle opposed water-coal slurry gasification technology owned by Yankuang Group; the semi-waste boiler process enables an improvement of 5% in the efficiency of water gas production ; The air separation unit adopts Air Liquide’s technology and consists of one set with a capacity of 92,000 Nm3/h (O2) and one backup system; it is currently the largest air separation unit in Shaanxi Province ; The distillation unit employs a five-tower, three-effect process, with a daily processing capacity of 5,000 tons of pure methanol. It consumes approximately 0.8 tons of steam per ton of pure methanol produced, which represents a 50% reduction in steam usage compared to traditional processes; it is thus the largest distillation unit of its kind in China. A total of 3 multi-nozzle gasifiers manufactured by East China University of Science and Technology are designed for this project: 2 are quenching-type gasifiers and 1 is a semi-waste-boiler type gasifier ; The air separation unit utilizes French Air Liquide’s complete technology set, with an oxygen production capacity of 92,000 standard cubic meters per hour; it is currently the largest air separation unit in Shaanxi Province ; The distillation system employs the five-column three-effect process developed by Beiyang **Distillation Technology Engineering Development Co., Ltd.; it is currently the largest distillation unit in Asia ; The purification unit employs the Dalian University of Technology low-temperature methanol washing process ; Methanol synthesis utilizes technology from East China University of Science and Technology ; The DMMn device utilizes patented technology from Qingdao Maiteda New Materials Co., Ltd.
