Background: A petrochemical company is building a new 200,000-ton/year alkylation oil plant, which uses the 240,000-ton/year C4 and C5 fractions available in the plant as raw materials for production. Based on the \"Limits on Energy Consumption per Unit of Product in Oil Refining\" (GB30251-2013), regarding the calculations in 5.2.2 \"Energy consumption per unit of product in oil refining, e\" and 5.2.3 \"Energy consumption per unit energy factor, ecf\", the following questions arise: 1. Since the project involves building a new set of facilities on top of the existing plant site, should the limit for energy consumption per unit energy factor be 11.5 kgoe/(t. energy factor) as specified in standard 4.1, or should it be 8.0 kgoe/(t. energy factor) as specified in standard 4.2? ; 2. When calculating 5.2.2 \"Energy consumption per unit of refined products, e\" and 5.2.3 \"Energy consumption per unit of energy factor, ecf\", should the scope be defined by the newly built alkylation unit, or should it take into account all the refining units in the plant? 3. If the scope is defined as alkylation units, in 5.2.2, is the processing volume G of crude oil and purchased feedstock oil equal to 240,000 tons per year for the C4 and C5 components? The above are the difficulties encountered in carrying out energy-saving projects; I spent a whole day studying them but still didn’t fully understand them.
