Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase 3 of the relocation, upgrading, and renovation project of Xinghua Yushen Chemical Co., Ltd. under Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group – namely the ammonia synthesis and downstream ammonia processing facilities – was successfully held. The meeting was chaired by Li Yinbiao, the deputy project commander, with Yang Yan, the general manager of Xinghua Yushen Chemical Co., Ltd., and other members of the management team attending the opening ceremony. Guo Haixin, Deputy General Manager of China Chemical Siding Company, was invited to attend and deliver a speech. Section 3, undertaken by Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd. – the ammonia synthesis and downstream ammonia processing project – includes key units for ammonia synthesis, nitric acid, ammonium nitrate, nitro-based compound fertilizers, and electronic-grade chemicals; it is a crucial element in achieving the overall objectives of the project. The project is located in the southern area of the Qingshui Coal Chemical Industrial Park, within the Yushen Industrial Park in Yulin, Shaanxi Province, covering a total land area of 1,587 mu. Construct production facilities with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons of coal-based synthetic ammonia, 2×360,000 tons of dilute nitric acid, 860,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, 2×250,000 tons of nitro compound fertilizers, 20,000 tons of electronic-grade nitric acid, 5,000 tons of electronic-grade ammonia water, 5,000 tons of electronic-grade ultra-pure ammonia, 150,000 tons of industrial-grade and 50,000 tons of food-grade liquid carbon dioxide, as well as the required air separation unit with a capacity of 60,000 Nm³/h, along with all other production facilities, utility systems, auxiliary equipment, and supporting systems. The total investment for the project is 890,184 million yuan. Of this, environmental protection investments amounted to approximately 372.029 million yuan, accounting for 4.18% of the total investment. Shaanxi Xinghua Group Co., Ltd. originated as Shaanxi Xingping Fertilizer Factory, which was established in 1965. In August 1997, it was restructured into Shaanxi Xinghua Group Co., Ltd.; in 2006 it was integrated into Yanchang Petroleum Group, thereby becoming an important part of the chemical sector under this provincial-level leading enterprise. At present, Xinghua Group has 4 subsidiaries and 1 listed company under its umbrella: Shaanxi Xinghua Chemical Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Xinghua Chemical Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Xinghua New Energy Co., Ltd., and Shaanxi Xinghua Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. It employs over 2,800 people, with total assets amounting to 11 billion yuan. As one of the early fertilizer and chemical enterprises in our country that introduced technology from abroad to produce synthetic ammonia using heavy oil as a raw material, it is one of the largest production bases for ammonium nitrate products in the country, and it is also among the top 500 chemical enterprises in China. The goal is to complete the construction of the new plant and put it into operation by 2027, while the existing 2,500-mu industrial park in Xingping will be retained.
