The first start-up of Dalian Petrochemical’s alkylation unit was a success!

At 18:00 on October 28, 2021, the 350,000 tons per year alkylation unit was successfully started up for the first time, producing qualified alkylated oil products, which marked a new milestone in the company’s adjustment of its refining product portfolio and the improvement of gasoline quality! The alkylation capacity expansion project was approved in October 2016, making it CNPC’s first sulfuric acid-based alkylation project to receive such approval at that time. The project includes an alkylation unit with a capacity of 350,000 tons per year, along with two units for the regeneration of waste sulfuric acid, each with a capacity of 25,000 tons per year. The alkylation process makes use of the Lums low-temperature sulfuric acid method, while the waste sulfuric acid regeneration process is based on P&P Company’s wet-process technology. Once the facility is built and put into operation, it will enable the blending of more high-octane gasoline products, making the company’s gasoline blending process more flexible. This will help the company further consolidate and capture market share, and it plays a crucial role in improving the company’s economic performance and achieving high-quality development.
