On December 24th, after more than half a year of construction, the project for the development and industrial application of high-temperature synthetic heat transfer oil, independently developed by Sinopec, was successfully commissioned at Jingmen Petrochemical. This marks the official operation of another major project aimed at transforming the company’s operations from those based on conventional oils to those using specialized oils, which will significantly enhance the company’s economic performance and profitability, thereby supporting its strategic transformation. This project is Sinopec’s first high-temperature synthetic heat transfer oil project, and its technology and products have broken the import monopoly. High-temperature heat transfer oil can meet the heat transfer requirements at temperatures up to 350°C or lower; it boasts energy-saving and environmental-friendly properties, and is widely used in industries such as petroleum and petrochemicals, chemicals, textiles, papermaking, textiles, food processing, and new energy storage. During the project construction and commissioning phases, the Refining Division coordinated progress through multiple channels; during the critical stages of commissioning, experts were dispatched to the site to provide guidance. Jingmen Petrochemical overcame difficulties such as recurring outbreaks of the pandemic, and carefully coordinated with the technology R&D institution, the Shanghai Research Institute of Petroleum Chemistry, as well as the design firm, to carry out the engineering implementation of the process package. It addressed the challenges associated with the first-time application of this technology in practical projects, and completed the design of the construction drawings on schedule ; Relevant units should prepare in advance plans for on-site lifting and installation, ensure strict control at key stages such as equipment inspection and delivery, coordinate all relevant processes effectively, strictly implement the safety grading management system for on-site work orders, enforce safety measures such as proper isolation during concurrent operations and fall prevention, and work together to establish a multi-level safety control framework in order to advance project construction promptly at each construction stage ; The start-up plan was optimized through multiple iterations, coordination efforts to initiate operations were accelerated, all operational procedures were strictly followed, and each stage of the process was closely monitored, in order to fully advance the start-up process.
