Help: Everyone, I have a reactor with a diameter of 1 meter; a reaction that occurred inside it has caused the reactor walls to become contaminated and blackened, with a layer sticking to the walls. The diameter of the reactor is too small to allow access for cleaning; disassembling it is extremely troublesome and requires a lot of effort. We have considered sandblasting and high-pressure water jet cleaning, but their effectiveness is limited. I would like to ask if there are any better methods for cleaning the inside of the tank.

Rinse with a high-pressure water gun filled with sand!
Stainless steel reaction kettle? Try soaking it in dilute sulfuric acid, keeping the temperature between 40-50°C.
Cleaning with sand-containing solutions is not advisable, as it can damage the inner walls of the reactor; using chemical methods for cleaning is a better approach. Check what the product is, and find a suitable solvent to use for cleaning
Is there steam? Steam it internally, just to steam it a bit?
Hot solvents such as benzyl alcohol and ethylene glycol are used for cleaning, and the contaminated solvents can be reused in batches after being filtered through filter bags.
Chemical cleaning or use of a 360-degree rotating cleaning nozzle

For easier handling, a polishing effect is achieved very well; our company has been using the polishing method for regular treatment.
First, determine what is causing the blackening of the reactor wall contamination – what are the main components involved! Take targeted cleaning measures to remove it!
