Since the beginning of this year, the Synthetic Resins Department of Shanghai Petrochemical has paid close attention to market trends, made full use of its integrated advantages in production, sales, research, and application, and stepped up efforts in the research and promotion of \"high-end + customized\" product developments. By the end of November, Sinopec Shanghai had produced 103,000 tons of new products, achieving 101.9% of its annual target. To enhance the market competitiveness of new products, the department established 6 task force teams and issued \"project assignment orders\" to the craftsmen innovation studios and technician innovation studios, pooling resources to overcome bottlenecks in device operation. This year, 5 new products were successfully developed and produced, including polypropylene foam material, high-density film material, and highly transparent polypropylene material, creating new sources of profit growth. Shanghai Petrochemical’s flagship product, polypropylene foam, features environmental friendliness, impact resistance, and recyclability; it is lightweight and non-toxic, and is widely used in industries such as packaging, automotive, and construction. Since the beginning of this year, by optimizing process parameters and precisely controlling the production process, they have produced 38,000 tons of foamed material, a 15.2% increase on a year-on-year basis. The average value of n-hexane extract for high-pressure polyethylene produced by Shanghai Petrochemical is only 1.4%, and the medical packaging films and food packaging caps manufactured from this material have obtained international certifications such as those from the U.S. FDA and the EU’s ROHS standard. This year, 2,213 tons of high-pressure polyethylene materials such as Q281D and Q800 have been produced. In response to market demands, this facility has also successfully developed a new low-density polyethylene product, GB030D. 805 tons of this product have been produced this year; it features high rigidity, excellent optical properties and chemical resistance, as well as a low level of precipitates. It is suitable for use in bottles for inhalants, eye drops, injections, etc., and has obtained relevant certifications from authoritative bodies in Europe and the United States. In April, Sinopec Shanghai successfully carried out trial production of the high-transparency polypropylene material M1600EHT. The particles of this product had no unusual odor, and their yellow index was -8, which is far better than the normal values of -1 or -2, representing a standard at the industry level. Currently, the production volume of high-transparency polypropylene material has reached 83 tons. This year, in response to market changes, they actively adjusted their product portfolio by shifting focus from polyethylene pipes to film materials, and developed and produced new products such as the high-density film material MH652; the output of MH652 reached 5,891 tons. In the first 11 months, the production of membrane materials exceeded 50,000 tons, accounting for 31.9% of the total output of this facility.
