On February 20, reporters learned from Jilin Petrochemical Company that Line C1 of its EPDM production facility successfully completed the second industrial-scale test of a new domestically developed vanadium catalyst. The test ran stably for 87 hours, and the ENB content in the produced product met the set targets. New breakthroughs have been achieved in the quality of the new vanadium J-6095 grade. ENB stands for ethylenedicyclohexylene, and it is the third monomer in EPDM rubber. During the second industrialization test, Jilin Petrochemical made full use of the successful experiences gained from the first industrialization test in April 2024. By setting benchmarks against advanced standards, it organized its research teams to overcome the various uncertainties associated with the research and development of new vanadium catalysts. It adjusted the polymerization formulas scientifically and refined the process parameters, thereby ensuring safe and stable operation throughout the entire industrialization test process. At present, Jilin Petrochemical is the only enterprise in China that has managed to produce EPDM products suitable for high-value applications using domestically manufactured catalysts. The J-6095 EPDM produced by this company can be used in areas such as automotive foam strips, automotive hoses, and molded foam products, and it has already established business partnerships with leading companies in these fields.
