Recently, the powder testing run of the extrusion granulation machine system in Guangxi Petrochemical’s 400,000 tons per year full-density polyethylene plant was successful, producing qualified full-density polyethylene pellets. This facility employs the internationally advanced UNIPOL gas-phase fluidized bed polyethylene production process, and thanks to its advantages such as high production efficiency, stable product quality, and low energy consumption, it is able to meet the diverse demands of the market for high-quality polyethylene products. This project involves building an ethylene production facility with a capacity of 1.2 million tons per year, along with downstream processing units, on top of Guangxi Petrochemical’s existing crude oil processing capacity of 10 million tons per year, thereby achieving integrated transformation and upgrading of the refining and petrochemical industries. Once the project is completed and put into operation, it will help CNPC Guangxi Petrochemical transform from a \"fuel-oriented\" enterprise to one focused on chemical products and organic materials. It will facilitate a shift from a basic refining-based industry to a modern energy and chemical materials industry that combines both basic and high-end products. This is of great significance for filling the gap in the region’s high-end chemical and new material industries, meeting the market demands of areas along the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, and establishing a petrochemical industry cluster worth trillions of yuan aimed at serving ASEAN countries.
