Technical renovation and restart of the Phase 1 ethylene plant at Wanhua Chemical’s Yantai industrial park

The first-phase ethylene plant at Wanhua Chemical’s Yantai industrial park has resumed operations following technical upgrades. In a statement issued on January 8, Wanhua Chemical announced that the diversification of raw materials mentioned in the announcement regarding the suspension of operations of the first-phase ethylene plant, which was released on May 23, 2025, had been fully completed, and the plant is now producing qualified products. After the renovation was completed, switching between ethane and propane as raw materials became possible, thereby effectively enhancing the competitiveness of Wanhua Petrochemical’s industrial chain.
