Some time ago, a planned maintenance was carried out on the compressor. After the maintenance was completed, the system was switched over to the compressor that had just been serviced. However, the breather cap on the crankcase of this newly maintained compressor was leaking lubricant. Dear colleagues, what could be the reasons for this?

It is usually caused by an excessively high oil temperature; check whether the cooling water volume in the oil tank is insufficient, and it could also be due to an excessively high oil level.

When there is pressure in the crankcase and oil vapor escapes, this oil vapor carries the oil with it; when it comes into contact with wires, it turns into oil droplets that are also carried out of the crankcase. If the pressure inside the crankcase is too high, the seals at both ends will start to leak oil. To address this, the pipes should be made thicker and longer
Oil leakage from the breather valve is caused by poor ventilation of the breather valve, which results in a positive pressure inside the bearing box. Just keep the breather valve unobstructed; I encountered this issue with reciprocating compressors at an oil refinery before.
