Our company has two 450kw refrigeration units, one in operation and one as a backup. When the backup unit starts up, there are significant fluctuations in the evaporator liquid level, which causes the system to shut down automatically. This happened last winter; the readings from the magnetic level gauge on the evaporator indeed showed considerable fluctuations. I’m not sure what to do about this
For non-standard units, unstable liquid levels can be caused by various factors. Since this is a non-standard unit, all factors are uncertain; moreover, as the equipment is of high value, it’s best to consult professionals to resolve the issue.
Who knows which chain you’ve activated? Be specific
Pay attention to whether the startup load is too high
Does the liquid level fluctuate greatly when it first starts up, or do the fluctuations occur after it has been running for some time? Is it because there is an imbalance between the cooling capacity of the refrigerant and the amount of heat that needs to be exchanged? You can first reduce its cooling capacity before turning it on
When starting to drive, do not apply too much load; keep the intake valve closed a bit. There should be a gradual increase in load to prevent liquid from entering the compressor. If the equipment has been in operation for a long time, it’s best to drain the water. The above are merely my personal opinions; please forgive any inaccuracies.
Hello, thank you for your reply. The fluctuations are significant at startup, with the liquid level varying between 40% and 100%. Yesterday, forced startup was carried out by controlling it through the on-site manual valve; however, after three to four hours of operation, the suction pressure suddenly increased, causing the machine to shut down and fail to start again. It’s an RWBⅡ270E-BC model – that’s the model of our machine
We are switching over; our own temperature has already dropped to -37 degrees, so there shouldn’t be any issue of high load
Is it because there’s a problem with the throttle expansion valve?
