The PGZ series of automatic scraper discharge centrifuges belongs to the vertical plate type. As can be seen from its name, it features a high degree of automation – it reduces the need for manual labor, making the operation easier. It combines the advantages of PD series belt-fed centrifuges and further optimizes their shortcomings. It can operate according to pre-programmed procedures and automatically proceed to the next cycle; the entire process includes feeding, separation, washing, dehydration, and unloading. The delay time for each process can be adjusted according to actual operating conditions. The specific procedure is as follows: Once the centrifuge reaches its rated speed, the actuator of the feed valve moves to open the valve, allowing material to be fed in. The material passes through the feed pipe and distribution pipe to reach the distribution disk, where it receives sufficient centrifugal force to be thrown against the drum wall. Under the action of this centrifugal force, the liquid is filtered out through a filter screen; the liquid (mother liquor) is then discharged through the liquid outlet pipe via the collection tank located on the chassis. When the weight (or volume) of the filter cake reaches the machine’s rated loading capacity, the feed valve is closed, and the centrifuge continues to operate at high speed. Once the separation requirements are met, the speed of the main unit is reduced to 15–25 r/min, at which point the scraper mechanism activates according to a predetermined sequence to remove the material. The material then passes through the discharge holes in the drum and falls into the receiving tray or conveyor belt, completing one work cycle.
