Is the oil leakage caused by the oil scrapper ring due to incorrect clearances in various parts? What is the correct gap value?
Whether the oil scrapper ring is worn, and whether the piston rod is displaced up or down
The piston rod is not shifted; it was just replaced. I’m worried that the clearances of the oil scraper rings are not correct. I’d like to confirm the correct gap value.
(1) The edge of the oil-scraping ring is of poor quality, or the contact between its inner diameter and the outer diameter of the piston rod is inadequate, allowing lubricating oil to flow out through the gap between the oil-scraping ring and the piston rod. Therefore, the inner diameter of the oil scrapper ring and the outer diameter of the piston rod must be colored and ground until the contact area reaches over 80%. (2) If the end-face clearance of the oil scrapper ring is too large, the clearance should be adjusted appropriately. The gap is generally preferably between 0.06 and 0.10 mm. (3) The clamping spring of the oil scraper ring is too loose. Since the oil-scraping ring is mounted on the piston rod with a certain degree of tension, it ensures that the piston rod and the oil-scraping ring remain in close contact throughout their back-and-forth movement, with no gaps allowed to prevent lubricant from leaking out. (4) If the piston rod is worn, elliptical in shape, or has deep grooves, it should be repaired or replaced with a new shaft.
Thank you; maybe I can find the cause of the leakage. First, the contact area isn’t colored, and second, the gap is a bit large at 0.20um. I’ll try installing it again.

Is the oil return hole of the oil scraper ring box facing downward? Is the axial clearance of the oil scrapper ring too large?
I can say with certainty that if there is oil leakage from the oil wiper ring, you should also check whether the gap after tightening is even; it’s best to use a feeler gauge for this purpose, as I just dealt with an oil wiper ring leakage issue recently...
