The securing method for the compressor pin of our 4M80 model is as follows: there is a through-hole in the middle of the pin, and a fastening bolt is used; on the other side of the crosshead, a shield is placed, with the fastening bolt passing through this shield to secure both the pin and the shield to the crosshead. The effect is very good; no equipment accidents caused by loose crosshead pins have occurred.
Generally, gland seals are used on both sides, which are then fastened with bolts; anti-loosening washers can be employed, or the bolts can be tied together with wire to prevent loosening. There are also designs that use snap rings on both sides.
Most use piston rod lock bolts for positioning. It’s best to watch the previous video. Pins can be small devices, but they are generally not designed that way.
