What is the difference between adjusting the speed of a mixer using a gearbox and using frequency conversion?
An accelerator serves to match the rotational speeds and transmit torque between the prime mover and the working machine or actuator. A frequency converter is a control device that uses the on-off operation of power semiconductor devices to convert the power supply at the mains frequency into electrical energy at another frequency; it enables functions such as soft starting of AC induction motors, frequency-based speed control, improved operating accuracy, adjustment of the power factor, and protection against overcurrent/overvoltage/overload. There is a fundamental difference between the two. One is accomplished by institutions, while the other is achieved through modern power electronics technology. An oscillator can replace a reducer. But if you have other requirements, it may not be replaceable. Variable frequency drives cannot be used in applications requiring high torque
Relying on a reducer can only fix and change one speed, while inverters have an advantage in that they allow the speed to be adjusted to whatever level is desired
The reducer has a constant speed ratio, which means the output speed is fixed. The function of the inverter is to change the speed again based on the output speed of the reducer; if over-speeding is not allowed, the maximum speed will be the output speed of the reducer at 50Hz. For mixers, power is related to speed in a cubic relationship; therefore, when the design parameters are not clear and there is a risk of overcurrent, using an inverter allows for reducing the speed slightly, which provides greater safety
Inverters can solve many problems; for example, they can effectively compensate for the neutral state of gearboxes. Inverters allow adjustments not only within 50Hz but also at higher frequencies!
