How is the volume ratio of York compressors adjusted? What determines these adjustments? When does the volume ratio increase and when does it decrease? How is it calculated?
The specific volume ratio is adjusted based on the compressor outlet pressure, and the slider allows for adjusting the effective compression length of the screw in the screw compressor.
Adjusting the slider based solely on the outlet pressure doesn’t seem to be the right approach. Because high outlet pressure does not equate to a high content ratio, right? Assuming regulation is based on high pressure, it is still done by comparing the two high pressures before and after the compressor outlet. Where are these two exhaust pressure probes located? There is only one on the plane.
