The radial shaft temperature at the non-drive end of the centrifugal compressor is 79.1°C as shown on the upper side, and 60.6°C as shown on the lower side. Inlet temperature of the medium gas is 41°C, and outlet temperature is 87°C. The difference between the two shaft temperature gauges is nearly 20°C, and the current oil temperature is 40°C. Dear experts, is this the actual temperature difference? Is it still a problem with the instrument? If it is a real temperature difference, what causes this phenomenon?
It should be real; check how the vibration is
Most of these bearings are of the sliding type, and excessive temperature may lead to damage. But a low temperature doesn’t mean there are no problems. An increase in vibration is a sign indicating bearing damage. A disassembly inspection is recommended.
It should be true; the reason might be a low amount of lubricant injected
With only these data, it is not possible to determine with accuracy whether they are genuine; a comprehensive analysis must be conducted by combining them with the data from the shaft system instruments.
Is the temperature difference between the oil outlet and inlet large? Is the vibration high? If so, the tile temperature is accurate, and the tile is worn out. If it is small, it is often a false value, indicating a problem with the temperature sensing probe system.
This reason is not easy to analyze. 1. Vibration can cause the temperatures of the two bearings to differ. 2. Inadequate handling of the two bearings during assembly can also lead to differences in their temperatures. 3. Instrumentation issues can likewise result in temperature differences
Can the tiles be tilted? This indicates that the contact between different tiles and the shaft is not the same
The vibration levels are within the normal range; the radial bearing vibrations are 13 and 11.8 respectively
The actual temperature may have errors in the upper and lower values; this is likely due to different stress points on the rotor during operation.
